Schools in the area begin to return to session in the next couple of weeks which can only mean one thing – it’s Tax Free season in East Tennessee! Kicking off at 12:01am this morning (July 26, 2019), it’s the three day event that both frugal folks and smart shoppers look forward to every year.
To help you navigate the best deals, we have organized the things you need to know to truly take advantage of your time and money. And keep in mind, not everything is eligible to be tax free – it’s best to know the ins and out before setting out and facing disappointment.
Here are a few quick bullet points to remember when shopping this weekend —
- Clothing is only tax-free if it’s under $100 per item
- School supplies under $100 are tax-free
- Computers $1,500 and less are tax-free
